Town Hall Upgrade Planning Checklist
Upgrading Town Hall too early can create upgrade pressure, but waiting too long can waste resources and builder time. The right decision depends on offense, heroes, storage, magic items, and whether the next level unlocks something your account can actually use.
Use this checklist before tapping the Town Hall upgrade button, especially near a season bank payout or major clan war week.
Ready signals
- Main farming army is current for your level.
- At least one war army is reliable against common bases.
- Laboratory has no critical troop or spell upgrades left behind.
- Storages can support the first wave of new upgrades.
- Builders will not sit idle immediately after the Town Hall finishes.
When waiting is better
Delay the Town Hall upgrade if heroes are far behind, your main army struggles in multiplayer, or the laboratory has several essential upgrades still untouched. The next Town Hall level adds more choices, and weak offense makes every new cost feel worse.
First week after upgrading
The first week should focus on unlocks and offensive capacity. Place required new buildings, start laboratory work, upgrade camps or spell capacity when available, and keep one builder flexible for cheap utility upgrades.
FAQ
Should I upgrade Town Hall during clan war league?
Only if your clan expects it and your heroes or war army will still be usable. Otherwise, finish important war prep first.
What should I save before upgrading?
Save builder books, research books, hammers, runes, and season rewards for the first wave of expensive unlocks.
