TH11 Hero Upgrade Order for Queen, King, and Warden
Town Hall 11 adds the Grand Warden, which changes both offense and upgrade planning. The account now has three hero tracks competing for builder time and resources, so hero downtime needs a schedule instead of guesswork.
The goal is not to keep every hero upgrading every day at any cost. The goal is to avoid long idle stretches while keeping at least one reliable farming army playable.
A practical hero order
- Unlock and start early Grand Warden levels because his aura improves many armies.
- Keep Archer Queen upgrades moving because she controls many TH11 attacks.
- Upgrade Barbarian King during farming-heavy weeks or when Queen/Warden are available.
- Pause heroes only for specific war commitments, not vague future plans.
Managing war and farming
If your clan wars constantly, decide which wars are priority wars and which are farming wars. Trying to keep all heroes available all the time usually leaves TH11 heroes underleveled for too long.
Resource pressure
Grand Warden uses elixir, which changes the normal resource balance. That can be helpful because dark elixir can still feed Queen and King upgrades while elixir goes to Warden, laboratory, camps, or walls.

Is Grand Warden more important than Archer Queen at TH11?
The Warden is important because his aura affects the whole army, but the Queen still drives many attacks. Treat both as early priorities.
Should I war without heroes?
Only if your clan accepts it. For serious wars, plan hero availability in advance instead of interrupting upgrades at random.
